A6 C6 2.0 BRE Manual non quattro. 190,000 miles. I have replaced all the front suspension and shocks in the last six months but the rear is still entirely original. I will replace the rear shocks but am wondering if it is worth replacing any other parts, mainly bushings, at the same time?! have a hydraulic press and screw press set so can do bushings fairly easily. There are no knocks or bumps or MOT advisories, yet.

Incidentally, on the subject of replacing stuff, I just replaced the Dunlop SP Sport tyres on the front, after at least 80,000 miles. I thought that was really good for the front of a heavy fwd car!

I would not change anything if they are OK. The factory ones are the best quality.

They must be tired by now, I'm wondering if new ones would make a noticeable difference?! I agree that the genuine ones last the best.

I would agree as well, is it an estate or saloon?

I'm really surprised you got that mileage from the SP sports - when mine wore out I put on Pirelli P7s and they need done now after about 30k miles.

I have to do the front drop links this week (they were an mot advisory) and I started to wonder that if doing one part with the suspension isn't that good ie the whole lot needs done as a wearing component puts pressure else where? I'm not in the position to redo the whole lot neither time nor money wise!
