Was looking to use my iPhone through the MMI system via the cables for sale on various web sites after watching various you tube videos of how to achieve this, however There is no MMI socket in my glove box (I thought it would be a standard piece) and I'm not sure if there is another part I need to connect somewhere to let this happen.

Any friendly, knowledgeable folks help me out here?

My bus is a 2010 A6 3.0tdi Avant Le Mans.

If it was included in the car then the socket will be in the top on glove box.

If you need to retrofit one, then its only adding in a lead and an Hidden Menu change.

Just because the car is a Le Man's it does not mean that its fitted, I would have though so.

    Thanks Dan2485,

Next Total Newbie question now - the retro fit cable,
    1. will this plug in to the CD/SD card unit, the CD multichanger or another unit hidden in the car? If it's another hidden unit - where is it hidden?
    2. Are the cables easy to source?

The lead plugs in to the back of the MMI Unit (SDcard/DVD unit) on the left hand side of the glove box.

Then the socket is located in a push out section of the top of the glove box on the right hand side.

the lead can be seen on ebay item no 270921279041 this one is too pricey, you can get them for around half of that .

The Hidden Menu is setup using VCDS and then once in the menu you enable the AMI on the MMI unit, look in the sticky section at the top of the forum.
