Sorry if this has been coverd before but I couldn't see it in search lol
My daughters 09 Gold TDI was dead on the key this am .
So- my son took a beefy tractor battery and got ready to jump it. He checked battery voltage 11 .90 ,certainly below 12!
Daughter sat and waited while he connected jump leads ,and after a few seconds she turned the key and away it went. (Voltage showed 14 .2 v so trying to charge ) Revved it a little for possibly 10 seconds and shortly after starting , it suddenly ran a little rough for 2 scs maybe ,like it was hunting ,(warning lights came on too ,I believe ) and it stopped !
We attempted to jump it again but it cranked and did not fire

I am currently trickle charging the battery on the car . Battery is taking 2 amps ,(which is a good charge for my little trickle charger ) which tells me the battery is hungry for charge and flat as a fluke !
We will give it a few hrs and then try it again !
Would the car not like the fact the battery was way down on voltage?
Any other things I should consider please?

Well, I bought another battery . It starts but a few lights on the dash are still on lol
The steering wheel symbol and engine (both yellow) left side and on the right side the Red exclamation and ABS symbol and the tyre with an I in the middle of it !

    Great stuff
