I swear I posted this yesterday but I can't find it and it's not in my post history
2002 A4 3.0 multitronic auto with 90,000 miles on the clock
See video below for the sound. The louder noise you can hear when the car isn't moving is me putting it in gear so ignore that.

I have a popping/clunking noise when pulling away from standstill and when slowing to a standstill on braking. It also makes the noise when going over speed bumps and it's coming from the front right. No noise at all once up to speed and it handles and drives as it should.
I cannot reproduce the sound with the car stationary either by bouncing the front end or with it jacked up and putting a pry bar in various places and giving it some heft.
Also if i jack the car up and run it with the wheels off the ground it doesn't make the noise
    New CV joints all round
New upper control arms and no movement in any of the lower arms that I can see (also just passed an MOT)
New front snub mount and no movement at all from the engine when revving or when I try and rock it so I assume engine mounts are all OK.
It sounded like inner CV joints to me but I have just replaced with new ones and quality ones rather than cheap and it made no difference

any help much appreciated as it's driving me crazy

I checked these yesterday. I can see the big one at the back of the gearbox and two small ones on either side. Are there any more?
Anyway they are all fine. In fact all the bushes for the gearbox, engine and sub-frame mounts, aside from a bit of dirt, look like new (they aren't but the car has been dry stored for my entire ownership, which is the last 8 years) and I can get little to no movement out of them with a pry bar.
The only thing I could find that was shot was the snub mount which Audi appear to have made from chocolate sponge.

Today I checked the brakes and all was tight there also. I took out the pads and cleaned it all up and re-seated them just to be sure.
