"Firstly, check the software version of the ECU is the optimized level to deal with this issues, I can help you on this if you mail me your reg number. "

@ Crasher - I seen you posted the above comment in another thread regarding this same issue a while back (I was searching this topic.) Can you check my software version if I give you my reg or chasis number. I saw a mention of a software update in my owners handbooks that the previous owner had done or checked at some point. I think the car was fairly new when that entry was made though so probably nothing to do with this issue.

I've ordered the timing tools so will check that first and update then.

With the reg and can see if there are any updates to the level numbers but not which one it has. A VCDS scan shows the update level.

Hi, noticed you updated the thread, I still have a bit of idle judder on my car still but it has improved after adjusting the exhaust side cam slightly.. I noticed on mine that it had actually slipped over somehow as you could see where the 3 bolts used to be tightened down. I'm gonna revisit it soon and try to set it all up properly as I need to replace the cambelt anyway really. Definitely seems to be a timing related issue with these though in my opinion, Crasher knows what he's talking about more than me though I'm just a hobby mechanic.
