Not yet, but this won't be a quick fix, it's an annoying judder only at idle which I can live with so I'll not be changing any parts just to see if it fixes it by pot luck. I've put another 4000 miles on it since I started this thread and the judder hasn't got any worse so until it gets worse and subsequently easier to diagnose and pinpoint I won't do anything. I'm putting 2000 miles a month or more on it so if it's going to get worse it should show itself soon.

The thing is, I'm not convinced its the flywheel, and I've read of this being a characteristic of these engines so I'm half expecting it not to get worse and for it just to stay the way it is but time will tell. Would a wearing flywheel judder exactly the same for 7 / 8000 miles without getting worse? Also, I don't know how long it had been juddering for the previous owner, could be doing this judder for the last 50k miles for all I know.

Is your car doing a similar thing?

I agree with you now about the flywheel as Iíve changed mine but the judder is still there (flywheel was knackered anyway though and rattling) I have the same issue yeah Iíve heard a lot about it on these engines but no real solution seems to be anywhere to be found so I was interested to know if you had managed to sort it. I kinda have the same opinion on it as you though it seems a waste throwing parts at it as it could just be what these engines do as it seems pretty common, Iíve heard all the stuff about timing/injectors/cracked head but never found a thread where someoneís actually fixed the issue. It would be nice to fix it but maybe more hassle than itís worth trying to chase it.
