I'll lob this up here in case it helps anyone.
With the 3 litre V6 you have to put the front of the car in the service position to change the sub mount, or so the wisdom goes. If you don't there's no room to remove anything.
I've just done it in 25 minutes without doing so and that includes thinking time LOL

If you take the jack from the boot it just fits between the edge of the sump and the front sub-frame. You can then crank it our far enough (about three inches) to be able to get an allan key on the spigot mount bolt. If you first remove the front mount bolts it will give you more room to wield the allan key and then you can remove the whole assembly. Make sure you dob't catch anything with the feet of the jack (oil cooler for instance).
