Hi all, I have here my partners 2010 A3 with 77k miles on the clock, We've had it looked at and found that the piston rings in cylinder 4 have cracked, we have bought a replacement engine for £200 with 80k miles on it and 2 month warranty and cam belt has just been replaced according to sticker on the belt cover and the guy i got it from. I recently had the engine out of my 2005 2.2dci 6 speed primera and done the timing chain replacement successfully so I'm confident I can do it. I am just here to see if anyone has done this before and if so any tips i should know and also any special tools i might need to do the job? Does the engine come out the top or bottom or do i need to remove the front like i seen on some older A3?

Engine will come out the top easy enough with a hoist, timing — always worth checking the belt for age
