    hi i have vw sharan 2006 tdi 1.9. THe car had starting problem for few weeks and then one day car could not start at all. the mechanic changed starter solenoid and problem sorted but after about one week the car started again the same problem. car wont start straight away when you turn the key. it takes few senconds to start . Please help with this issue.

    They are 4 Heater Glow Plugs (similar to spark plugs) which are fitted on top of the engine,you will see them when engine cover is removed.

    A fault code read would be a good idea, the 2006 has glow plug monitoring which removes guess work.
    Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...

    Thanks for your reply. i have tested all 4 glow plugs with multimeter and they all are giving zero resistance. then i took them out and tested battery as well and they all start glowing withing seconds. So glow plugs are fine i guess. if you have any other suggestions please send me message. so i can check for the problem.thanks again

    A fault code read, this would have eliminated the glow plugs themselves (but NOT the control system) as they are monitored on this engine.
    Anthropogenic climate change, the biggest con inflicted on mankind since religion...
