    Help needed!
Was driving along and the dpf light came on, carried on driving and a eml light also came on p0299 which suggests a problem with turbo.
Eventually the car lost power and cut out..
If I try to start it is hard to start then won't Rev about 1000 before losing revs and cutting out, each time fumes are coming from the engine it seems.
    Any suggestions?
Could the dpf need a manual regen and if so how can I do this using vdcs if the car won't start?
Anything else I can try before garage time?
Just waiting for aa as I speak!
    Thanks

Everyday is a dpf day ! Not fit for purpose .

Partially blocked dpf puts back pressure on the turbo and can kill it .

The DPF may have melted down but if it is just blocked the “The DPF Clean Team” in Hinckley are very good at sorting them out. The 28gram figure is the Ash, not the soot, if the reading is over 40% you cannot regen at all, the warning says “vehicle may burn down”. When you get a cleaned DPF back, you still must carry out a forced regen. I have a Passat in on Friday which has failed its MOT due to a Darkside Devleopments illegal DPF delete pipe and the poor owner bought it like this not knowing so not only does he have to pay £1800 for a new DPF but also the VW £400 surcharge as we can’t hand an old one back. I will be destroying the Darkside Developments delete pipe to prevent its re-use. With the recent negative press and now CLEAR fact that diesels without a DPF are killing thousands of people a year I find it difficult to understand why removing the DPF even crosses someone’s mind, how can people be so callous? Those advertising the service and selling the parts should be prosecuted.
