If it's been part of the, " software upgrade", ie had the cheat programme removed then contact VW head office and ask about the TBM, trust building measures, they had to replace various sensors on my fuel rail because of the same issues. Limp mode etc disappearing again to come back later.
Up to two years after this nonsense recall is covered. There's a Facebook site with over 7000 folk from VW never mind Skoda or Audi all having similar issues to you.

Most probably blocked or melted completely, had one totally blocked and nothing showing on the dash, you can check by unbolting it and move it back a touch and I'll bet she'll run.

Definitely somethibg blocked, garage finally getting to it today.
Aa pulled fault code P0471 - Exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 does that suggest dpf? I dont get why it would have completely melted as I was driving it at the time... The garage I use said they are able to clean them so I'm hoping for a clean not a new one as I've only just bought the car!

    Update
Current diagnosis is egr cooler has leaked and caused dpf to block.
New cooler on order and dpf being cleaned.
    Hopefully all back together tomorrow....

    Final update on this.
    Car now back and working.
Needed new egr cooler and new dpf in the end - they tried to clean the old one but it wasnt cleaneable!
All under warranty - car back drives nice better mpg, job done!

Given how they dealt with it I would recommend the VAG Centre from Bristol - cars break and its down to how the garage deals with it, and they did everything I could have asked them to do.
