    Hi Jonathan,
Going back to your thread in April last year ,did you manage to get the issue sorted? Was it just the exhaust gas temperature sensor that had to be replaced and did it clear the Engine management light?
I am asking because i had the same issue this morning with my 16 plate BITDI which has only done 18000 miles.Only bought it 2 weeks ago and with the mileage is at i wasn't really expecting any issues. Will get mine scanned with VCDS tonight when i get back home.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Ovi, yes it was replaced (by an indie) and yes it did cure the fault. It hasn’t repeated itself. I’ve just been looking for the payment but I can’t find it right now. I seem to recall it was around the £300 mark but maybe you’ll be covered by warranty?

I’ve cut down on short run usage ever since because I’m convinced this causes problems, evidenced by the start/stop system which works pretty much all the time now but didn’t before.

Good luck in getting yours sorted.

    J

Thanks a lot for responding. Will look into that sensor depending on what VCDS reveals later this evening.I can live with a sensor replacement but not quite so easy if it's a DPF replacement. The Audi warranty ran out in April.Have got an independent warranty on it but that wont cover emission related issues.
Did you scan with VCDS yourself or did the garage do it for you?

No I used the indie to scan because I didn’t have access to VCDS but I have a Carista type scanner now and hope that will resolve anything in the future for me.
