    Hi all

My poor little A6 avant (1.9 TDi 2004) just failed its MOT for a few reasons! Leaking rear n/s calliper, perished brake flexi hose, cv joint boot split and, last but not least, excessive play in the front bottom o/s suspension arm ball joint into which the shock bolts. I changed the o/s front top arms a couple of weeks ago, as I knew they would not pass the MOT (bush had started to separate from arm). I did not pick up on the bottom ball joint during my work
I need to order a new arm and I may as well do the front bottom rear arm while I'm at it and then at least all of the o/s front arms will have been done. I have discovered that there are two different types of arm available, with different sized ball joints (16mm or 20mm I believe?). I have been under the car but I couldn't find anything that resembles a part number on the arm, only "LMO DE BTW" and then the Audi logo.
I'm trying to avoid taking the old arm off only to then put it back on again if I discover that the wrong arm has been ordered. I can't really leave the car on jack stands, given my parking situation.

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Ecp should give you a Lemforder part according to part number or even reg No. I believe the 20mm was for Allroad only but I could be wrong. Once you buy one carefully check against old part before covering it in oil or throwing away packaging.

    Thanks.
I’ve actually ordered all three sizes of arm (16, 20 and 21mm) so I should have no issues!
Wish me luck for tomorrow but moreso please arrange for the rain to hold off until Monday.

I would not hold my breath for weather this weekend but good call for all three sizes and good luck.
