    hi ive just got a 2001 a4 1.8 t, great bit of kit, now i want to do a oil service, i have read that 5w/30 fully synthetic and a larger oil filter is good, eurocarparts do a discount code but when i put my reg in it comes back with semi synthetic and standard filter, can anyone take a look and see if you can get me the eurocarparts part numbers for fully synthetic and bigger filter please, thanks for helping

    I use 5w40 full synthetic with large Mann filter. Liqui moly usually

    thanks again, as for oil ,if i ask for 10w/40 fully synthetic oil i should be good then, i noticed that some oils are gm-ford etc spec, i need a vag spec 10w/40 then or doesnt it matter

    Not sure about that it. But vag spec and full synthetic is what I would go with

    10W-40 tends to be a semi synthetic .

    Choose 504.00 5W30 the higher quality oil which protects more and combats the 1.8T enemy of sludge better .

    I use the castrol edge long life in my tdi. 5w30. Its a 507.00 spec oil. very nice stuff. I dont use it as long life. But its just good oil.
    I think vw uses castrol themselves too.
    Almost same price as lesser spec oil if you search the internet a bit.
