Hi folks. 56 plate b7 Audi a4 2.0 tdi s line has done 88K and gone through 2 sets of back springs and I'm sure at least 1 set of front springs. Local indi garage says the metal they make springs from is crap so springs don't last as long as they should. I think another front spring is gone but I'll confirm this weekend when I have look. Is it me or is there a problem with a4 and springs??

    Thanks

    Ian

Which brand springs are You using ? I'm riding new Sachs rear springs for 18000 km now, nothing is broken for now.

First rear set lasted 27,000 miles (43,400 km)
Next Rear near side lasted 24,000 miles
Next Rear off side lasted another 33,000 miles

Just noticed that front springs haven't been replaced so I suppose its about time they broke

That's very strange, haven't heard that springs would fail so fast on our Audi's. What brand are the springs which broke for You? OEM, Saschs or other brand? Did You buy them used or new?

If you don’t buy genuine springs, use Suplex.
