The car just cut out while driving normally. I managed to curse it into the next car park. It will crank and try to start but Just won't go. It's as if it is only going on a couple of cylinders. A scan threw up p0328 crank speed senors out of range. changed this with no joy, since found out the rev counter is working so sensor working. And could be fuel related. Got to the pump and it seems to him at the right time. Hoses around the filter feel under pressure ie no real flex. What next? The car is a few miles from house so making a tad hard..

Thanks for reading all suggestions welcome.

It was after market but as pointed out on this forum over on the passat section this runs the rev counter and the car could still run on cam sensor.
    Confused....

You need to put in original sensor.I disagree car can run on cam sensor.
From experience I had many years ago BMW 318 Ci and it would not start, bought a crank sensor from Euro car part, car started very oddly, week later car would not start, went scrappy yard got one out of the car, came home bang it on and never had problem after that,so if you want the issuing resolving buy original.

Thanks will try that then. Still trawling net for other options seen a post about s q7 where if 1 injector fails the ecu shuts all down and dosent log a fault!?!? They suggested disconnecting 1 injector at a time and trying it should start if this is the case

    Thanks for replying.

[QUOTE=f927;1081193]You need to put in original sensor.I disagree car can run on cam sensor.

He may be referring to the PD engine where it will eventually fire after a prolonged crank if it cannot match cam/ crank initially. I dont know if it works on his engine.

Right went back over and checked voltages at the crank and cam sensor. Just shy of 5 at cam , 5 is correct and getting a voltage at crank. Not reading too much into the low voltage as the battery is pretty flat at this stage seen a low battery warning come up just after taking the cam voltage. Only one cam sensor that i can see on the right hand side bank.
