It's all going to get very interesting for sure .

The Darkside exhaust is a lovely piece of hardware , their remapping is peaky !

The manufacturers need to take responsibility as the dpf system is too much £ and that's why people take the cheaper route , gaining power and mpg as they go .

Dpf's are a joke , doomed to fail and need special poo runs like a dog .

In my experience they do work, this car stank when running in my unit to such an extent I had the heater blower on summer setting to move the air and the fire exit open the let the air flow through and even at idle you could hear the turbo out of the back box like an electric drill plus the tailpipes were black inside, thick with soot, with a DPF they would have been spotless. I agree that the pipe is nice work, shame it is illegal..... Personally I think they should be ashamed of themselves, anyone could jump on this wagon, it takes a certain level of honour and decency to resist the temptation to put peoples health at risk to save or make a few quid depending on which side of the counter you are on.

    Hi all,

I also read that any tampering with the DPF will result in a major fault and fail straight away..

The sooty tailpipe will still be a bit of a give away though.

The finger never lies, right Euro 5 with DPF, left Euro 4 without DPF. As I found yesterday, a Euro 5 with DPF removed is WORSE than an EU 4 as there is no cat as well.

I think people will panic over nothing, basically if your car is stock, runs well and emits no smoke then theres no issues.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in my unit (roller shutter and fire escape open) working on an EU5 with the DPF removed and I was OK, today I spent an afternoon the same way with on EU5+ with its DPF as per factory dealing with a interior heater issue and on the way home I was gasping and reaching for my inhaler, does’t add up but I am a spanner monkey not a Quack.

Nope , some have a ridiculous fake VIN plate smoke coefficient figure , how is it a five year older 52 plate 1.9 PD is 0.60 and a non dpf 58 plate 1.9 PD is 1.00 !!

    2009 non dpf Ford 1.8 tdci is 1.75 .

The VIN plate figures are all over the place and the testing regime in place at the time was as we all know, a bit flawed.... The new WLTP test and RDE1 and upcoming RDE2 figures should be much more honest.
