my daughter's 2008 1.4 GT Sport 140 TSi just slipped the timing chain, engines a complete write off - all 16 valves bent, pistons damaged. Basically it's a new engine (having had a new turbo just 6 weeks ago).
Has anybody had any luck getting VW to contribute towards this issue? the engine itself is around £3500, and it seems very much like a design fault as so many people have suffered it.
Any suggestions on how to approach them, the line to take. It does have SOME VwW service history, but's a couple of yeard since a franchise service....
    cheers
