Things to watch out for when buying a 2014 A6 C7 3.0BiTDI?

Hi all. Considering one of these in the near future and wondered what sort of things I should watch out for when looking/test driving. Thinking of common issues really, but any input welcome

Hi One thing I would look into is the latest emissions software issue reported a couple of days ago. It appears to affect V6 engines in relation to Adblue use. Hopefully if you are getting one from Audi it will not be a problem but otherwise I would contact Audi with regard to any that you may consider from other sauces. Good hunting...

I have the 242bhp 3.0 V6 and mine doesn't use Adblue. Does the biturbo differ so much that it does? I just assumed that it was tweaked a bit and had another turbo but was basically the same engine. Could easily be wrong though.

Hi my understanding is it is dependent on which Euro emissions standard it falls into. Believe it is Euro6 ?

No Adblue on mine but I find if you use the car a lot for short trips the DPF regen can be a bit of a pain. The BiTurbo is a rapid continent crosser and that’s what it’s designed for.

2014 was a facelift year.
Early 2014 wouldn’t have adblue and later facelift ones do. If I remember right the facelift were euro 6 compliant and pre was 5.
With all this dieselgate nonsense I would be looking for a euro 6 car personally.
Also the facelift got a little more power.

As A6S says, 2014 was a facelift year. Mine was an April 2014 car so missed out on the FL. The FL went for sale in September 2014 with firat deliveries as of November that year. BiTdi got Euro 6 and some 7 bhp more. In Germany they also released a BiTdi Competition with a few cosmetic upgrades on the standard Sline plus and an additional 7bhp. Doesnt really make any difference btw...

Well it looks like this time next week I could be the proud new owner of a 16 plate A6 3.0 BiTDI. Went down to Stratford Audi today & put the deposit down. Lovely Daytona Grey one with Tech Pack, Parking Pack, Storage Pack, heated steering wheel, sports suspension, Lighting Pack, power boot lid. There's no pan roof, head up display or electric memory seats, but they're just luxuries. I'm really happy with the spec over all.
