AdBlue: error

Got this warning whilst driving back from France today... “AdBlue: error” 1000km to go etc. Not a message about low AdBlue level. Anyway I stopped and filled up with about 7.5L AdBlue (I have the normal 12L tank) so it wasn’t close to empty and I’ve never had any low level warnings. As soon as I filled up it went away.
I’ve emailed my dealer as its still under used warranty, but anyone on the forum seen similar message? I could not find exact match with search. Thinking it may be AdBlue level sensor issue?

That's normal. I've seen the same message a few times.

Good to know thanks, but not normal according to the MY16 manual I have as you’re supposed to see a different countdown message and reminder to top up... I’ll see what the dealer says - that would be the easy answer!!! :-)

I would not be surprised if something got lost in translation. In the 2-years I've had my MY16 I've seen that message about 4 times. Each time I've topped up and the message has gone away.

Well... you may want to get the system checked if especially if still under warranty ragebe.

I just got the car back from the dealer. They’d checked it out and found it was a defective supply module for the AdBlue. So this was replaced along with the filer line for it. However because the parts spec had changed they also had to replace the control unit for the system also. All in all around £2k!!! Thankfully under warranty...
