Noise/groan from Steering at low speed

Hi
an old complaint from my car has returned. A4 Avant 1.9tdi 130

When pulling out from kerb at very low speed i can hear and feel a slight groaning noise in the steering system.

Fluid checks ok.

Last year i had similar issue , but then it disappeared.

i want to sell the car in about 4-5 months so i would like to cure it.

I did check pulley on alternator last year, which appeared to be ok.

Anyone got some suggestions please?

When did you last change the power steering fluid? Could just be a sign the power steering is on the way out. I had this on one of my cars and changed the fluid which helped a lot but it came back and was like that for a couple of years with no deterioration.

I had researched this before and found something relating to a steering wheel/ column retention spring or ring, I had a google but cant find where id seen it for the B6. If you find it let me know because I get the same problem when turning the wheel it feels like there is a jumping of gears and a popping.

Are you sure it is steering and not CV joints? Inner CV joints will clunk when pulling away if worn.
