Hello,I have a 2005 Audi A6 3,0 tdi (BMK). I have sometimes special when engine has been hot and then stands for a while some struggling when trying to start again, same as the touareg in the link (Touareg V6 hot engine starting problem - YouTube). And no, its not bad battery.. i also have the sound like sounds like chain rattle specially when starting after stop in 30 minutes and start again. I have changed all 6 injectors, bought them from eBay germany refurbished injectors. Not really big different before and after. No fault codes from VCDS that indicates anything with engine.

I was reading about camshaft position sensor possible defect could maybe give these symptoms? Anyone who now where the camshaft position sensor is located on BMK engine? Any thoughts if this could solve the problem?

Check/change injectors with new or used in good condition. No refurbished. No camshaft sensor involving in this situation.

In this case take the new injectors out and test them on a bosch piezo stand to see if they are good.
I personally fixed a lot of problems with the change of all the 6 injectors on my 2.7tdi bpp 2005 A6, including the starting at hot engine. Used injectors bought on ebay at 80 euros/piece.

What do you mean about ‘write up’? Do you need advices about changing them by yourself? The machine that tests the injectors already knows all the information to calculate for the injectors and test them with the factory one.

The only self testing guide is to test the injectors with a vacuum pump. Open the pipe connection on each injector with the engine stopped and put in some vacuum. If the injector holds vacuum for around a minute, than this is good. If it loses in few seconds it means it is a bad injector leaking at idle.
To get them out is very easy, just get some keys for opening them and take care not to brake the return plastic like pipe. I can give you the elsawin info if you really want.

I took mine to a Bosch dealer who tested them and ultrasonically cleaned them. Much better afterwards.
