So they were fine but needed a clean? How do you mean dealer? Like a bosch garage? How much did this cost? Thanks

The only self testing guide is to test the injectors with a vacuum pump. Open the pipe connection on each injector with the engine stopped and put in some vacuum. If the injector holds vacuum for around a minute, than this is good. If it loses in few seconds it means it is a bad injector leaking at idle.
To get them out is very easy, just get some keys for opening them and take care not to brake the return plastic like pipe. I can give you the elsawin info if you really want.

Yes, there is an auto electric garage which is an authorised Bosch agent. They bench tested them and then cleaned them. This helped with the starting and hesitation issues. Wasn't completely solved but so much improved. They also supplied new o rings for the injectors. It was a while ago but seem to remember it was around £40 per injector.

This is how you check injectors for leaking at idle.

It is a simple job, don’t listen to everything that is writen there. Just untight them and pull the injectors by hand, performing left-right turns untill
    You pop them out.
Pull out the old copper seal with some pliers.
Change the copper seal, the oring and lubricate it with engine oil.
Clean the chair of the injector on the engine with a flat screwdriver and a cloth but take care not to brake something.
If you need more info ask me.
