Spare key for a MK6 Golf

I wanted to get a duplicate car (key + fob) for a Volkswagen. I have been told that the "trade price" of a duplicate key would be in the £50-£75 range, but when I called the VW authorised dealer, he quoted a lot more and said that garages do not get discounted prices for keys.

Has anyone had a VW duplicate key made and programmed, anywhere in Yorkshire? Or if anyone on the forum works at a VW dealership, can they please advise whats the best way to get this done while avoiding the exorbitant prices quotes by the dealership?

As far as I know programming new keys on newer VAG vehicles can only be done by a dealer who has online access to VW computer network. The last time I checked a new key for mine was around £200 + programming.

I was quoted about £205 for the keys and programming (including VAT and all other costs) by two different dealers. However, I have found some sellers on eBay who claim they can create and program the keys for £100 all inclusive. I have provided the eBay link below for one such seller.
