    Hi all,

Long time no speak! I changed from my A6 into a Mercedes CLS 350d. Which is fantastic, despite the numerous... numerous issues i've had with it!

I've decided to come back to Audi, I have had a C63 which I sold about 8 months ago and deeply missed the V8 noise and speciality of it. So I decided this time I change my car I wanted something special. I've always hankered for an SUV, I test drove the SVR Range Rover, Velar and the SQ7 and the SQ7 spoke to me in ways the others didn't. The fit and finish is must better on the Audi!!!

So I ordered the SQ7 Vorsprung in Pearl with the only option being heat / tint glass. I am now considering adding the towing package to the order as I fancy a boat or at least a jet ski in the near future. If I don't do this then i'll be getting a trailer and a track car (I'm a divorced coming on 30 guy who's a bit of a petrol head ).

Anyway, Does anyone have any details on how the SQ7 handles the tow bar? Is it worth getting the factory fit package or getting an aftermarket setup?

    Glad to be back....

    Thanks, as always!

sorry cant help but i would say get the factory fit.
that way you get the correct software activated with the car that gives you the reverse assist etc etc
im sure this could be activated after by those in the know but a hassle

you will love the car - seems quite a long wait though i was 4 months

I have to wait for my current PCP to end (plus getting past the end of my mortgage period etc etc).

Thanks, I am thinking dealer fit, At Ł1,300 it's quite steep though...

does seem expensive but then we are talking about a Ł90k car .....
is it dealer fit? - i would be surprised if it is just due to the assistance systems and wiring but what do i know.
if you are going to use it regularly and it sounds like you are, it would be a shame not to have full integration, no? after all you are fully loaded already and how much more does Ł1.3k add to your pcp?
i say this but fully appreciate i myself didnt go for any additional extras even the ones i would have liked as i thought enough is enough
lol well i did get the red calipers and 4th year warranty but that thrown in as part of the deal.

just my thoughts but either way you will have a special motor.

Yep, It'll make all bar no difference. I'll just do extra deposit and won't change the PCP value. The only reason I have them on PCP is for proper budgeting :-)

Yep we tow with our SQ7. Factory electric towbar with the useful hands free reversing feature. Incredibly easy to use , towbar deploys in 10 secs or so. Obviously the thing pulls like a train and frankly while on the motorway I have to put cruise on otherwise you’d be way over the speed limit without any problems. Both horses have adapted to the acceleration now too.....

Not come across a situation yet where the thing feels totally stable and imperious. Does like a bit of nose weight so check your balance.

Makes our previous LR Defender look incompetent , and that was excellent!

The reversing feature is really quite useful and does work well, though feels like cheating

I’ve really grown to love it .

That sounds exactly what I want. Can I be cheeky and ask for a couple of shots where the tow bar is on the rear bumper? Keen to see what kind of cover / normal visibility it has

I’ll pop out when the rain stops. It’s hidden behind the bumper so no cut outs etc or anything obvious that there is a towbar. This is a vid of it

Just tried to add it, it’s gone into confirmation for build now unfortunately so it’ll have to be an aftermarket setup unfortunately! But does mean I can delay until I decide what I’m doing
