    What way does this work guys?
    Does the car go in to limp mode,does it fire lights up on the dash??

    Car goes in limp mode if there is some sort of fault with it.
    Also it lights up the dash if there is fault.
    DPF Regen happens with increased idle (About 1000 RPM), but it also increases if its cold and you demand heat in cabin,
    or simply if engine needs to heat up.
    Often after regens your cooling fan may keep going after engine is shut down, to cool engine bay.
    Current cars:
    2007 Passat b6 2.0 tdi BMR DSG
    2013 Golf MK7 1.6 tdi 5 speed

    Mine does it mainly after refuelling
    The rpm increases. It won’t turn off automatically at lights etc. The radiators fan will be on high speed. And you may smell a burning smell. Very important not to switch it off during regen. Can take upto 10mins
