Hi All. Changed the DMF and clutch on my B7 as the clutch was slipping and the DMF was rattling upon clutch release. Now when the car gets started I have a very loud rattle which increases with revs but disappears when the turbo kicks in at about 1800 revs and returns when the revs drop. The rattle seems to be doing from the top of the engine but it’s difficult to tell as it my be vibrating up through the clutch housing. The original DMF and clutch were LUK and replaced with the same.

Any thought as to what this might be.

    Much appreciated.

    Chatty.

    UPDATE

LUK have said the grease has collected at the bottom and 5his needs to be fed through via a wormhole on the DMF???

Although the rattle is still there it is not as noticeable. Could it be a faulty DMF as it rattles when in neutral and when in gear and I believe the DMF spins when not in gear!

    Hi

Sorry for the late reply. The shim on the clutch housing cover wasn't seated properly and this was making the rattle travelling all the way down the exhaust.

    Problem resolved.

    Thanks
