    Hey all,

Been a while since I've posted, having a second kid kind of makes you forget and lose all time!

I've been having an issue with my passenger side mirror not tilting when in reverse.

Have made sure the switch on the side mirror is set correctly.

When I use my wife's key in the exact same setting and put the car in reverse the mirror tilts. When I do it in with my key the mirror just stays still and even using the side mirror adjustment stick in reverse doesn't move it at all. So it's a setting related to my key somehow.

Taking to dealer today (second time it's happened now) and last time they just rebooted the car and it worked fine.

Seems they are reluctant to do any car software update to try and resolve as the turning it on and off again option makes it work.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks

    Lai

Can't say I've seen that Lai.

So if you stick the car in reverse parked up the mirror should tilt. Then use the mirror knob to dip it further and then drive off and it should go back to normal. That should store that last 'dip'

Then put car in reverse again and see if it dips to what you last set the angle too.

I've checked your last car scan I took and your modules look right and on latest versions.

Thanks Andy, managed to speak to the technician and he agreed it's an issue. He thinks it's a software fault and he's seen it on other a4's.

However there is nothing stored on Audi's system as a fix so he's raising a report so we'll see what they come back with.

He did manage to find a temporary solution which helped fix the problem, you basically place the key in the reader (in front of the arm rest) this causes the passenger mirror to dip when reversing.

Will see what Audi come back with.

Very strange but glad they acknowledged it. Good luck and let's hope they release a fix!

I have recently started experiencing a different but related issue.

When putting the car into reverse, the mirror dips without an issue however it fails to return to normal position when driving forward again.

The stick doesn’t allow me then to perform any adjustment, using the memory button sometimes brings the mirror back to normal but often I need to stop the car, turn off the engine and even a couple of times lock the car and restart to get the mirror working again.

Did you or Audi technician change the battery in the key? Silly question but if it works when placed in the reader suggests the problem in communication between the car and your key. Sometimes simple things solve the problem. IMO this is the problem with your key not with the car software.

    Hey retom

Changed the battery and even changed over the key for a brand new one and still had the same problem that tilt only works with one key.

Gave up in the end as the dealership was utterly Terrible and the missus said she didn't even use reverse tilt (it's more the perfectionist in me that wants it fixed), but sounds like it would take more investigations to fix.

    Cheers

Disconnect the neg terminal on the battery for 20 mins and that will reset everything. Can't hurt and worth a shot.

So the issue has struck again, this time I'm in Audi extended warranty territory. Having to take the car to another dealer as my local one doesn't do loan cars now.

    Questions:
    1: anyone else experienced this?
2: do I need to pay diagnostics if I'm taking this to another dealer even though it's under Audi extended warranty, if so shall I just go back to my local dealer?
3: one for Andy here, do you know if there is any Audi bulletin on this?
