First off I would like to say hello, I look after several cars in the family, namely a 2014 VW beetle 1.2 tsi, a 2002 Audi A2 1.4 TDI and a 2014 E250 cdi I am after some advice if possible regarding the beetle. I need to replace a vacuum sensor Part no 0 261 230 170. What I don't know is how to remove the faulty sensor without breaking it. It appears to be fastened using using some form of plastic clip

The only way I can see it is to squeeze the pins and lift gently on 1 side then repeat on the other, is going to be pig to get that off specially when sensor is sitting on O-ring, failing that can you see if you could cut the pins off, drill little wholes and use 6-8mm bolt with nut to re secure the sensor if you brake them pins? Looking at that pic is silly design as plastic gets brittle over time and lot easier to brake. Good luck anyway

Hmm not sure about VW tools, had a little idea not sure if will work, try to find small socket that will force the pins to squeeze as you pushing on them from top and from bottom use plastic trim remover tool, if not wait a bit someone else might know other ways, that is he problem if the pins are brittle will be very easy to break them.
