    Hello again
    some advice please

ive just had the Flasher column switch changed but now I’m left with the EPS and ABS warning lights showing in the display

Thought these had come on because the battery had been disconnected but my local garage connected their diagnostic box which said ‘ no communication ‘

looking at the clockspring and steering wheel installation I can’t see how it could have been put back together wrongly and everything worked ok before the switch change

    any advice please

    my car : A6 C5 2004 2.5 V6 Tdi Multitronic

    Thanks. Bobh

If you loose the alignment or worse still let the sensor rotate when off, the clock spring can be destroyed but that would put the air bag light on so it is probably incorrectly set up or just not even adapted.

    Thanks
Not sure alignment was lost. There seems to be only one way to fit the clock spring. What do you mean by Not adapted ?

The sensor will often have to be re-adapted to the car using a diagnostic system if it has been worked on, you could do with a code read to see what is upsetting the system

    Ok

the garage that checked this out used a WiFi diagnostic box because he didn’t connect any cable to the car but said he was getting a communication error and couldn’t go on !
Not sure if he meant his tester was not communicating with my car or the clockspring was not communicating with the car ecu

It is going to have to go to someone who has the equipment and the knowledge.
