    Hi VW Audi Forum!

I am mainly a Jaguar guy who loves to mod/customise, I own a 450bhp Supercharged V8 XJ as my toy, but had VWs and a Skoda for year in the family, my first car was a 9n Polo.
My Mums Skoda Octavia sadly suffered engine failure, due to the timing belt skipping teeth- it had a new one only 2 years ago.
I found her a 2012 2.0 Tdi SE at a local Audi dealer at a bargain price:

I was drawn to it by the Garnet Red paint.

However, I was disapointed to discover that the SE spec is very basic, missing many essentials imo. Both my Jags were better equipt as standard and nearly 10 years older.
I want to make this car as nice as possible for her and learn a bit about Audis in the process.

The initial plan is to retrofit the LED Tailights and Zenon headlamps with DRLs, which I managed to pick up yesterday for £195, need to find matching drivers side headlamp.

The tailights had some noticeable storage marks and scratches, which really dulled them. Thankfully no cracks though.
I wetsanded them and machine polished them, before and after:

    All done:

Need to order up a wiring loom adaptor, as these are not plug & play. Also going to give them a medium cherry tint. Anyone got a wiring diagram?

    Interior lighting:

Did the boot & glovebox too, ordered some LED logo projectors for the puddle lights. Car comes apart very easily, especially compared to the overhead console on the XJ!

Gratuitous photo of Super V8 if anybody is interested:

    Thanks J4mmy_87!

Johnro79, don't see why it should be an issue, as all parts are OEM & will be installed correctly. Not like I am just sticking HID bulbs into the existing headlights.

I think he’s meaning the washer for the headlights and the auto levelling which isn’t just installing the headlights
    Both are needed for mot

Headlight washers hopefully are already there & headlight levelling will be retrofitted. Suprised more people have not done this, does nobody on this forum retrofit their cars?

I think it’s the potential pain in installing headlight washers and auto levelling. The sensors are mounted on the suspension somewhere and potential of laying cables and installing/coding modules, it’s not a job for the faint hearted.

Absolutely true, but halogens look so cheap on a A6, I can't believe the signature DRLs are not standard.

It’s all part of the grand plan. In the pre facelift they put halogens as standard then in the facelift they can boast about drl and Xenons across the whole range.
