Whining from right side of engine bay, especially when steering

Often when I first start my V6 TDI up it makes a strange whining noise. It seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. It changes sound when I turn the steering wheel. It tends to go when the car has warmed up fully. Any ideas?

The PS cooling pipe works is prone to corrosion so recheck your fluid levels again in a few days....just in case.
