As per the title really? Is it easy, accessible and can you do it with standard everyday tools?

All input is very gratefully received.

Give us a clue on the engine size, if it's the v10 engine then I would say not a chance but if it's the 2.0TDi, then I would say it would be a simple job.

The poster has a 2.0 tdi it’s in the signature.

Its should be ok but invest in a set of xzn sockets bit set to be sure only around £10 for a set on eBay.

I have signatures disabled, they can sometimes be bigger than the posts, makes the treads twice as big as they should be.

I didn't realise you could disable signatures. Will try to remember to include engine/model details on future posts then.

Shame, the car has always fired up with barely even a single turnover - until of course, I decide to sell it & then the starter motor starts taking a few seconds of spinning up before starting.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll have a look into prices if you reckon it's a DIY job then.

    Cheers.
