    Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone here has experienced intermittent engine management warning light coming on and off? I haven't had problems with my b7 for more than 6 years, which is amazing. Only recently I started having thoughts about switching to the new Q7 and as if my b7 heard me and started misbehaving.

It all started with the glow plugs light coming on and off for a period of a week. I thought it was because I very rarely wait for it come off when starting the engine. Then all of a sudden, the glow plugs light stopped misbehaving and I had a few weeks problem free driving. This was then followed with the engine maintenance warning light (yellow) coming on and staying for a few days. I booked a diagnostic visit for next Tuesday but today the engine management warning light went off. I will be driving tomorrow to check if it will come on again but it looks like it may have been a temporary glitch.

Have you experienced this on your cars? Would you do the diagnostic visit or would you save on the money until it comes on again (if at all)? Forgot to mention that when the 2 lights were showing on the dashboard I didn't feel any performance issues.

Read somewhere that this may be the EGR valve.

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The errors from when the warning light came on are stored in the system, so they will all be seen when you get the diagnostics done - so definitely get the diagnostics done, proper Audi diags and not a generic code reader.

    Good luck
