    2009 2.7ltr A6 Le Mans Avant

Can anyone confirm my SatNav as below is a MMI - 3G, also is it a Basic or High.
Both the CD and Multimedia player are in the glovebox. The multimedia has 3 slots, DVD and 2 SD.
As seen in the image the DVD is from 2010.
If I had a current 2018 map, would the SatNav need any further updates to use the 2018 Europa map.

    Thanks

Judging by the button, you have MMI 3G Basic.
Check your version in MMI under navigation setup. HNav = 3G High and BNav = 3G Basic.

You should do firmware update prior to map update.

    Hi,

If you had MMI 3G High your MMI knob would have a "top hat" joystick button to allow you to pan around the maps. Here's a photo of my old 2009 car to compare with:

    Thanks guys

    Looks like its a 'B' :- Software Ver. BNAV_EU_P0022_D1 and Map 4G0919884D_ECE 5.8.4

Any clues as to what version of software/firmware I should use for the current 2017/18 Europe Map.

    thanks again

    Thanks.

Have registered to My Car.com as per instructions as 'Audi A3 How to Perform a Software Update to the MMI'.

Cannot find any link labelled 'To service' or to the 'Map update section'.

    Has this been removed ?

    thanks

Having the firmware mentioned above and a 2017 Europe map.

Is there a tutorial link of how to carryout the update procedure.

    ok

Do I put the map on a 8GB DVD and the Firmware and FSC on a 64G SD and carrying the Firmware updates first. Found a procedure info from 2014 for a BNAV 3G with no HDD, 3D and Joystick, would this still be current for today.

Do I need both East and West maps to carryout the Map update or can I just use the West.

Also I've been told that these updates could reset the Engine Management Map ??

Updating the MMI software does not reset your engine ECU firmware, whoever told you that was pulling your chain...
