Good morning and Happy holidays to everyone!

I have a problem with my Audi which I cannot solve and I need some help please.

The car: Audi A4 B7 1.9 TDI 115bhp, no modifications.
I changed the timing belt kit 10k miles ago with water pump and all filters. Oil + filter about 1000 miles ago.
The only problem I had was EGR valve getting dirty (I live in London) but some additive every 3 months made the car like it was new.
The car used to work perfect until now.

    The problem:
Few days ago I tried to start it but it didn't.
The rev goes up to 200rpm but doesn't start. I called a mobile mechanic who tested it (VCDS and another diagnose machine which I don't remember how it was called) but there was no error.
In the end he sprayed some WD40 in the intake and the car started! No funny noises, all working good.

I used the car until yesterday when it didn't start again.

I read on Google that it could be tandem pump/vacuum pump but the brakes work like it should.
Injectors are in good condition and like I said once the car starts, it works perfect.

If someone had the same problem, can you please help me?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello Kite,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
I tested the battery and it is good.
I am thinking that maybe it doesn't have enough "pressure" or something to push the rpm over 200. After the mobile mechanic started the car with WD40 it worked fine for few days but I would like to fix it instead of walking with WD40 and a wrench in my pocket

Fuel filter ( maybe water in there because cold weather), fuel supply
    Or return leaking

Yes your car has the in tank electric fuel pump, part number 8E0 919 950 E, make sure it is delivering fuel.

Diesel starting issues I always start at fuel primer, glow plugs, injector pump, injectors and fuel. Try adding heat or another methanol additive to your fuel.

    Good evening everyone,

Apologise for not being too active but I had a very busy period.

In meantime, I changed the battery and it didn't made any difference then I changed the fuel filter and the car was a bit better. It worked for a period with "ok-ish" starts (without WD40) but 3 days ago it died completely.

Basically I have fuel because I checked the line, I have power (new battery), the fuel filter is new and injectors were checked and they are good.

When I try to start the car it cranks (max 200 rpm) and nothing else happens. Doesn't start at all.

I spent a lot of money and time on diagnostics, parts and I still didn't manage to fix it. All the mechanics I've been to have different opinions but in the end no one is sure what is wrong with the car.

All the problems started since the cold weather...

If anyone can help I would really appreciate.

Thank you everyone again for your help!

It might b starter motor.... If it cant rech the speed of 220rpm ECU wont let the fuel goes to injectors and then wont start.. with WD40 U force engine to fire up on his own
Give a starter few little “hits” with the hammer and try to start...
Here is another story with starter...
