    The rear wiper is working, but parks in one of two places.

    It parks either in the correct position or just above. If it starts from just above the correct park, it will sweep to the correct park first then do a full sweep and either park correctly or back just above again.

    If the screen is fairly dry, it can't make its mind up whether to wipe or not and sometimes parks vertically.

    I have made sure the spindle is not binding by adding a few drops of oil.

    What type of parking mechanism is used and can it be cleaned etc.

    I did take the boot micro-switch apart last summer as the Alarm kept going off and cleaned it, and is all ok now.

    I imagine as every other A3, A4 and A6 of this generation suffers with rear wiper motor issues that would be a good starting point.
