Spoke to a couple of audi specialists they seem to think the timing chain has jumped a tooth......
Is it plausible to take top covers off and correct in situ or laughable?

Can't beat the self study program. Thanks for that. 4 chains really.... lol might sell on as non runner or see if I can see what's up without taking engine out. But it's below 5 degrees out and i can't get into my garage.....

Still not got looking at it right. If I disconnect one bank of injectors the engine won't throw enough to disengage the starter it's the same on both sides suppose main chain could of slipped rather than a bank...

My car is still not going - the cam timining has been checked all good new audi crank sensor fitted and the ecu has been back to bosch and given a clean bill of health. the mechanic is going to run new wires from sensor to ecu to see if that works.

in vag com can you see live data from the sensor? can you match it up against cam sensor and injector signals?
