Car is stuck at the local shop. A scan threw up p0321 - engine speed sensor g28. I am going to have to change it in the car park but struggling to find any info on how to its not in elsa... found a dodgy you tube says it's above the left hand drive shaft. Does any one know? Odds are it will be raining as Well when i get the part....

    Thanks
    Stewart.

Have you confirmed that the wiring to the sensor is good?

If the new sensor is not duff then does the flywheel teeth look ok.

If you can get a camera on a stick into the sensor hole and turn the engine by hand.

Thanks for the reply been trawling the web and found out if the rev counter works the sensor is good and that p0321 sensor out of range is a FFS or no sugar Sherlock moment for obd2. Basicly means your engines not started mate.... other posts have pointed towards fuel issues and to be fair in hindsight it does come across as that. The fuel gauge has been messing about for a while, out of habit i reset trip and keep an eye on fuel consumption and possible issues so i know it's got fuel but on the same hand possible wiring issues in the tank...... fingers crossed

I have started another thread but thought I should close this one out. 3 wired sensor uses power so confirmed the outer wires had 5v present. Current theory is the timing has jumped a tooth....

thought i would close this out -
the 5V was a white lie i measured 2.5 but as the battery was dead i assumed that it was ok at 5.

on the strength of 2.5V and a weak signal the ECU went back to bosch to be refurbished, turns out 2.5 is expected at the crank sensor.
the actual fault was damage to the sensor ring due to something coming off the clutch.
