Poppy appeal

I am currently serving in the Royal Navy and have just noticed this thread.

I would like to thank the site for their support for the appeal and it's good to know that there are people willing to stop for 2 minutes a year and remember our glorious dead..!!

Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun And in the morning,
We will remember them.....

The Royal British legion has today launched their 2008 Poppy appeal in Basra, please buy a poppy and wear it with pride.

I'll give this thread a bump to 'todays posts' and re-iterate my same point, for a few quid, show your support for our war veterans and current war victims, tis those who keep us safe at night

Four of us are paying our respects to three members of our family who gave there lives in WW1 by attending the rememberance parade at the Arras Memorial in France on 11th November. Such people paid for us to enjoy the freedoms we now take for granted.
