Audi MMI screen popping when retracting

Hi All,

just bought a 65 Audi Q7 last week, the spec is good with stop and go, 4WS, virtual cockpit, Pan Roof and Air sus.

Used to to have an older Q7, which I loved until things started failing and was costing a bit much.

I have noticed the last few days the Audi MMI SCREEN when retracting seems like it doesn’t reach the bottom limit switch and pops up and down about 5 times making a loud noise and stays down.

Anyone come come across this and any suggestions on a fix?

It your on a 65 plate why not take it into AUDI for a warrant repair? mine goes smoothly up and down so their is clearly a issue here.

Yes, since posting this I’ve read reports from other Audi owners suffering same problems and in some cases it’s lubrication and some Audi replace MMI by dealer under warranty. However no one with a Q has reported this before. I have it booked in with Audi for service in 2 weeks, will let you know how I get on.

My 65 plate did this when it was cold first thing on a winters morning. Dealer fixed it with a software update, I'm told the update slows it down a little and stops the problem. Mine has been fine ever since so definitely worth a trip to the dealer. I showed them a video of the problem as once the car was warm the problem went away.

Thanks for the response. The car is due 2 days of updates according to the dealer, the previous owner didn’t bother updating it seems.
