    I used Paypal using my debit card rather than credit card do you know if I'll still be able to do that please?

    Yes you can. Contact EBay as well as PayPal it will take a few weeks but you will get a refund.

    Well I contacted the seller and advised him that I had concerns his product may cause damage to my car, with which he said fine send it back and he would refund my money if I had concerns but he advised me that he had never had any issues with other customers using it. So being either brave or stupid I thought I'd give it a go before condemning him and with the limited knowledge I have of vehicle diagnostics, that'll be none, as far as I can see it does what it should. I can run a full scan, access and scan the individual controllers and reset fault codes. I haven't tried altering the parameters of anything as yet, and may never do so, as I just wanted something that would give me an indication of what was wrong with the car. So if a warning light came on when I booked it in for any work at a garage I'd avoid getting ripped off by them telling me there were things wrong with it that weren't. The car is 13 years old so the lack o software updates isn't something that bothers me as I imagine Audi stopped any updates on the car years ago.
