I have been using the original Goodyear efficientgrip 225/45/18, but will change to a different brand. Perhaps we can hear views on this thread on centre tread wearing out and what brands can cope better. The problem affected both front and rear tyres.
I seem to get the opposite. Been pumping my tyres a few psi higher than factory cause they were wearing on the edges especially the fronts.
Worse on the bridgestones and Michelin’s but still noticeable on the good years.
Most of my miles are motorways miles or sitting in traffic.

I get same as A6S but only on the outside edge of both front tyres... cars done 24k on the pirelli p7 centurato... did the 20p test yesterday spurred on by the discussion here and the coin border/edge has started to become just about visible so i believe it may be time to change?
Initially i thought the wear on outer edge may be down to tracking issues etc but could be another indication that tyre is approaching end of life... its not the complete edge, more in the middle of the edge groove so that the edge grooves have just about disappeared in the middle. Hope it makes sense.

I run Uniroyal Rain Sport 3's on mine, the 225/55/17 Y 101 to be exact. I pay about £100 per corner. I get 20k from the fronts at 25k from the rears. That's towing a caravan about 2k a year but also having load in the car a lot of the time with bike rack etc. Great tyres that are quiet and work very very well in the wet, predictable when pushed, don't give a headache on 400+mile drives.

Quick look on black circles and they are £120 for your tyre size

Yup, outside a little more but that could be my driving. Checked the tracking and nothing out all within spec.
Wife has similar problem with her continentals but I personally think it’s the contis and not the pressure/car. Always get outside wear on contis in every car I had

Yes up the psi , it's daft you can't apply the recommended pressure to all makes of tyre .

I think it’s a bit trial and error. Different brand/models of tyres will need something a little different. I find increasing the pressure a little on the Michelin’s made it feel less skittish when cornering.

I'm now onto my second set of tyres on my A6 Avant Quattro (225/55R17). The originals were Michelin Primacy 3 which were great and lasted almost 20k miles which I didn't think was too bad given the weight of car and frequent trips around the roundabouts of Milton Keynes! I'm now running Michelin Crossclimates+ and after 8k of winter miles I'm impressed with their stopping ability in all conditions particularly on wet and muddy roads. The only thing to mention is the tyre pressure need to be quite high due to the extra load (XL) nature of the tyre. I checked with Michelin and on the front it's 41psi and rear 38psi.

I had the contis on both my previous Nissans and the wear was shocking. The compound was so soft you could almost pull it apart with your hands
