My car (2011 A6 Saloon) has developed a fault with the centre rear brake light, it shorts out immediately as soon as the brake pedal is pressed.
I've fitted a new light unit but this hasn't cured the issue.
I've cleaned the 2 pin connector to no avail.
Any ideas on where to look/what it could be?

Both left and right brake lamps work fine even when the centre light is disconnected. Its purely just the centre brake light that seems to always short out.

How do i test if its the actual led light unit that's possibly at fault?
How can i test the unit once removed from the car?

Solved! Turned out to be a faulty new brake light unit.

But now I've developed another problem! The airbag light has come on and will not turn off.
