I've received a message from the dealer from whom I bought the car, that it's due for an A/C service. The car is coming up to 2-years old and this is the first time with a new car, I've been advised the A/C will require such a service. Has anybody else received such a message?

I looked Audi Maintenance Manual for Q7, cannot find anything on A/C. Only the Dust/Pollen Filter should be changed in every two years, which relates to A/C somewhat.

I recently got one of these ragebe. Mine was made Dec 15 and I bought in Oct 17 when I would have expected them to have checked the A/C as part of the pre-delivery service to he honest. Have you taken it in and what did it cost if you don’t mind me asking? (PM me if you want to share)

I've not responded to the text, as the A/C seems to be just fine. I think it's a money-making scheme, whereby on the 2nd anniversary, a message is sent, advising you need your A/C re-gassed and the dealer charges 4 x times what one of the locals will do. I'll see what it's like in the summer but the last re-gas I had on my A6, cost about £40 at the F1 Auto Centre in Poole.

As said it's yet another rip off tactic by main dealers, at best they re-gas and use an anti bacterial 'bomb', both of which is easy DIY and much cheaoer. I never bother a it's not a warranty requirement and as long as it's blowing ice cold and no bad odour, leave it alone.
