Upgraded cooling system.

I’m thinking about putting a towbar on my 2014 A4 Se Technik. I was advised by the garage over the phone that I may need an upgraded cooing system to be able to tow anything. Seriously? I’ve been driving for 31years and I’ve never heard of a car that needs an upgrade to tow anything, well apart from the tow bar. What gives?

So I'm regurgitating information from a friend, but I believe his A4 Avant for which he had the towing package added when he bought it came with up-rated cooling system parts from the factory.

Though hopefully another owner can help you out on this one.

I assume as I don’t have a towbar that the previous owner didn’t go for the towing package.
