    Apologies if there are threads for this - I couldn’t seem to find one specifically for the AVG engine. My temp gauge will go to 90 then zoom straight down to 0 again. A VCDS scan found ;

    I am presuming the sensor needs changing. I’ve done this on our Audi 80 1Z engine (fiddly and annoying)

    i was was wondering if anyone had any tips to change on my A4. Looks like access is tricky. I bought Haynes manual and the AVG engine isn’t covered! Thanks in advance.

    It is on the back of the head in a plastic housing pointing towards the cars right and tight up against the bulkhead, a bit tight to do.

    Ok thanks. There are two places I thought it could be today when I took the engine cover off. If I take photos is there a way of posting them, now photobucket charge?!

    I have a picture, trapped on photofu*w*t who are a bunch of idiots. I PAID them a subscription and then they said they wanted hundreds of dollars a month, now they are begging me to come back for ONLY $199 a year! Hell will freeze over first. I have opened a Filckr paid account which is less than $10 a month and I am slowy rebuilding my libary.

    Off-topic from the original post (sorry) but I moved all my pictures from Photobucket to imgbb.com and re-linked all images in my posts to their new home. Imgbb is free and they don't seem to care about hotlinking (which was the issue with Photobucket). The hardest part was finding all my posts with images in them

    Cheers!

    Great. I’ll check that out and hopefully post some photos so I can identify the coolant sensor!

    I have tried to get my pics off of phototwat and failed as now I am no longer on an ad-free subscription my PC gets bombarded with adverts to such an extent I cannot use their web site to retrieve my pictures, they are a sharp practice unprincipled money grabbing con machine.

    Update. Changed the sensor on a Friday - o ring wouldn’t come out so lost all the coolant whilst fishing for it. New sensor fitted, coolant topped up and now running at 90. Fiddly, job but worth it.
