    Hi
    Can anyone advise me please?
I would like to get a diesel Tiguan Auto
My available budget will get me. 2010 or maybe a 2011 car
I will be main driver but it must be able to be driven by my wife on occasion

Due to rheumatoid condition my wife is unable to use her left thumb to operate the release button on the standard Tee bar handle

My question is, will the handle/knob from a post 2012 Auto model fit the existing stick and linkage?
The later knob has a front mounted button which she can operate using her fingers, as in her 62 plate Touran

It may sound trivial to some, but it really is a show stopper for her.

    All comments welcomed

    Thanks

go to VW Parts Department & ask

They should with a bit prompting got to the mechanics and ask

The only problem I see is that the housing for the handle might be different and not hold the different stick.

If it does fit, then the next problem might be the wiring connector is different, if so it is hopefully two wires and they can be soldered. It should in theory be just two wires as its just a simple switch

Or you splash the cash & get a newer model
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

All 3 cars in the current fleet

    Thanks Niall
Hadn’t thought of any wiring, thought it was a mechanical button.

I’ll pop into VW later today
