Hi all. Just had a service and cam belt done and the lower intercooler pipe keeps popping off. Any recommendations on a new one? Cheers

It depends on the engine as to what goes wrong, on the 130 it can be failure of the ally link pipe and on the 150 a cracked intercooler.

Yea it’s the 130 I’m reckoning it’s where they disturbed the pipe?

A better than factory bodge is to get a pair of correctly sized (measure what is there) 'U' shaped exhaust clamps around both parts and then clamp them together with some stainless steel cable ties. Yes stainles steel cable ties, about £7 for 100.

Every joint on both my gracefully aging B.5 Passat and the Wifes also gracefully aging MK4 Golf 130 TDI are secured this way.

Make sure you use stainless cable ties. Normal plastic ones are not up to the job and will soon let go.
