Whistling noise coming from my turbo

Can someone give me any advice on what to do with my turbo, I have a pd130 and the turbo is making a constant whistle noise it’s gotten louder over the past week, someone mentioned a bearing in the turbo that will be on its way out, I’ve checked the pipes and I can’t see no splits, any help would be much appreciated

If you're sure its no an air leak and you want to check the turbine shaft bearing for play you can get to it from inside the OS wheel arch once you get the liner out the way or from underneath if you can get it up high enough. Remove the intake pipe and spin the shaft by hand, check for lift ( radial play) and float (axial) if you can detect more than a smidge it is knackered. you might notice that the impeller has been contacting the compressor casing, the impeller blades will be worn down and you might be able to make it contact the casing if radial play is excessive. If this is the case, remove it and send away for refurb.
